3 MINUTE WALK TO THE BEACH!! Our guests often like to go out to the shipwreck with us and we savor being "tour guides". And, we have MANY friends that we have acquired over the years who are here for sizable parts of the summer. You'll be welcomed into the "family"....and YOU WILL LOVE IT.
Padi-Shack has three bedrooms, two baths, and a screened in porch just off the kitchen. There are ocean vistas from the upper decks, and there is a gorgeous ground level deck with patio furnishings and an OBX style swing. The owners don’t live far away and we will do anything we can to make this your best vacation EVER!

Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Kill Devil Hills area. To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Kill Devil Hills area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Kill Devil Hills area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in Kill Devil Hills:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Snorkel A Shipwreck...Two Ships Are On The Bottom Just Off The Beach!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your family.
- If there's a specific Kill Devil Hills attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
