This is a classic but refreshed Outer Banks "beach box" style construction, 3 bedroom 2 bath home located just 3 tons back from the ocean in a peaceful, residential neighborhood at the end of a peaceful street one block from the beach road. It features ocean vistas from the living and dining areas as well as from the broad deck space on multiple levels. The main living area is open concept with a entirely outfitted kitchen and dining table with seating for 6, and two additional stools at the bar/island. Sliding glass doors off the living area open up to a enormous deck space with Adirondack seats for 6. The deck has another "crow's nest " level with 180-degree ocean vistas and additional seating. The deck also has a gate at the top of the entrance from the ground level so you don't have to worry about your furry friends wandering while you savor the space.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed, an en suite full bathroom, and a walk-in shower. The second bedroom features a queen size bed, and the third bedroom features a single bed and a set of (single) bunk beds. All bedrooms have intelligent TVs with streaming. (We do not have cable TV.) The second full bathroom is located in the hallway and features a tub/shower combo.

How to get the best Kill Devil Hills vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Kill Devil Hills area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Views -Dog Friendly- 3rd Row From The Beach\n\n has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kill Devil Hills rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
