About this Property
- Sleeps 7
- 3 Bedrooms
- 2 Bathrooms
- Private vacation home
- Approximately 1200 square feet
Our home is located in a peaceful, residential neighborhood. It has been freshly painted with many new updates and furnishings. We are located two blocks from the sound (bay) which offers a public boat ramp, spectacular sunset vistas, and miles of multi-use paths for walking, running, and cycling. We are an painless walk to public sound accesses for fishing, crabbing, or calming. The closest ocean beach is roughly 3/4 of a mile from the home and affords many public accesses and complimentary parking. Within one mile we have supermarkets, department stores, ice cream parlors, coffee stores, and many fine eateries. Within one mile is a new Target store projected to open in Spring 2023. Within five miles, more eateries, arcades, mini-golf, movies, and so forth.
PLEASE NOTE: On the ground floor of the home we have a modest, separate, one bedroom unit which we have had as a vacation rental for the past multiple years -- see Vacation Rental By Owner 685432. This unit is suited for up to two adults. In the years we've lived above the unit, we have never heard any excessive noise from the guests below other than their car doors closing. Likewise, they have never commented on hearing noise from above. Each unit is private and separate.
Also note, new this year, we are now providing linens and towels. Along with bed linens, we provide one set of towels (towel and washcloth) per guest plus one beach towel per guest.
We have available on the ground floor a gas grille with side burner and spare propane tank, a porch swing, and an outside shower. These items are also made available to downstairs guests as well.

Tips to get the best Kill Devil Hills rental home experience:
When to visit Kill Devil Hills & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Kill Devil Hills area. Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Comfy Three Bedrooms, Two Baths, Competitively Priced with Lots of Amenities has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
During your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
