NEW! Welcome to Following Seas, located in a elegant neighborhood on a peaceful cul de sac, our place is ideal for families. Walking distance to the beach, sound, and the Bay Drive Multi-Use Path. Open concept living and kitchen area with a loft. 3 story, 3 BR and 2 Full Bath. Entirely appointed kitchen with new appliances and multiple outdoor spaces. Wonderful fire pi area in our completely fenced backyard. Linens included. Our home is peaceful, just like sailing in following seas.

We are so excited to share our new home with you! Our local hosts (Brad & Robyn) are very experienced with five stars on all of their properties. They bring that attention to detail and appreciate of hosting with them:-)

We are dog friendly (one dog and no other family pets) with a entirely fenced yard!

About the home: When you enter the home, you’ll enter into the mudroom, which homes a washer and dryer and assorted beach gear. Off that entry room is the first bedroom, which has bunk beds. There is a double bed, a twin bed and a twin trundle as well as a couch and a TV for the kiddos!

Up the stairs you’ll find the first bedroom on the main floor to your left which has a queen bed, and tons of additional space for a pack and play which is kept in the closet. Straight ahead and off the bedroom is a fully refreshed bathroom with bath tub and shower. The bathroom is accessible from the hall and from the bedroom. To your right is the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The kitchen has everything you would need to prepare and serve for six. We have a Kuerig duo and a French press as well as a crock pot, toaster and blender.

Our deck wraps around the front of the home and to the right where we have outdoor seating and a table that seats six as well as a propane grille.

Up the stairs, is the master bedroom which has a king bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower stall and double sinks. There is a delightful deck for two off the master bedroom which looks out onto the backyard. We have plenty of space in our walk-in closet and a dresser as well. There is a modest TV in each bedroom equipped with Roku. We do not have cable, but we do have the fastest Internet available in the Outer Banks.

Last but not least, we have a gorgeous fire pit in the backyard which works with propane. You’ll find our home has tons of spaces to hang out together but also spaces to hang apart. It is roomy and relaxing and we hope you appreciate it as much as we do. ~~~Athena and Kyle

Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Kill Devil Hills rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kill Devil Hills vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Kill Devil Hills area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking your prefectrental:

  • Start by having your group agree to the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Following Seas - Pup friendly retreat by Sea and Sound! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
