Located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills, your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located oceanfront bungalow.
This is a classic Outer Banks beach bungalow designed for modest families who want being able to walk out the door and onto the beach instead of packing up the car and finding parking.
Although our protective natural dune prevents an ocean view from the porch, you can certainly hear the waves crashing and feel the breeze blowing.

Tips to get the best Kill Devil Hills rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Kill Devil Hills area. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Kill Devil Hills area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Kill Devil Hills visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your family choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sea Captain's Cottage Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kill Devil Hills rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If not, call the host before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
