The home is 1,650 square feet and sits one one wooded acre. The home has the fashionable 'reverse' floor plan (living area upstairs with bedroom areas downstairs). The home sits on a cove of the Albemarle Sound.

There is a 110 foot private walkway from the home to a dock with a gazebo. The home and gazebo face south-west offering gorgeous sunsets. A porch off the kitchen faces the woods and offers a peaceful serenity not often found at the beach. The beach (Atlantic Ocean) is less than a mile away and there is a bicycle path that runs in front of the 'Sound Crab', by the Wright Memorial ending at the major ocean access point in Kill Devil Hills.

The home is gorgeously decorated. There is an extraordinary amount of glass to take advantage of the sound and woods vistas. The kitchen is well equipped and contains all modern appliances. The home is far enough off the road (that dead ends less than 100 feet in a cul-de-sac) that traffic is rarely heard.

A full-size washer and dryer are in a storage area on this floor.
A Weber charcoal Bar-B-Que grille is available on the deck.

A deck covers three sides of the lower level while the porch covers a fourth side.

A deck covers two sides of the upper level while a porch covers a third side. Rising from this level of deck is a roof top deck. This deck is 35 feet off the ground.

The home is wired for the internet.

Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Kill Devil Hills area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the perfect rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Sound front-Close to the Ocean-.Memorial and Labor Day weekend require 4 nights has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
